Personality: Christian is what most Americans would call a regular guy. Despite the fact that his chosen occupation in the UK Army could easily brand him as a rather mean nasty type, he is quite the opposite. Calm, rarely seen to anger and at times annoyingly polite. As with his name, he is a devout Catholic and it is his faith that guides him to do the right thing. He sees being ‘out there’ taking down the bad, as his way of serving God.

Hobbies: . His 1986 Ford Sierra Cosworth, and a collection of 1970’s vintage slot cars he inherited from his father.

Interests: Aiming one day to become a writer on the history of the Parachute regiments within the Commonwealth forces and their campaigns.

History:

The youngest of four children and the only boy; Christian was born on Mindanao to Ramon and his English wife Margaret, out on the north eastern coasts which at the time was a popular tourist area. The reason his mother was there in fact, looking for adventure as a young eighteen year old she signed up with a local dive school to learn her trade as an instructor and island tour guide. Her intention was only to stay for three years or so until she met Ramon, a dive instructor from a rival company. So was so enamored with the life there, she married and stayed until the troubles began more than what had been previously contained in the west of the island. When a tour boat was attacked in late 96’, that was enough for Margaret. Contacting relatives in the UK, within six months the family was on their way, settling in Yorkshire near her sister. The children were granted automatic citizenship because of their mother, Ramon had to wait five years.

Teenage life for Christian became an issue. He thoroughly missed the sea and became restless so much as he was driving his family crazy with his constant moaning (this as a fifteen year old). Margaret had inherited a small portion of her grandfather’s will, enough for the family to purchase a few acres and start a little market garden to grow those things the local Asian community found hard to get fresh unless it was imported from Europe. Vegetables and herbs generally. Yet that farm life wasn’t for the youngest, at 16 he left school finding an apprenticeship as a carpenter with a boat building company in Hull. He knuckled down, worked hard and finally got his trade; into the bargain he met many boat owners and one of those a dive instructor just as his parents were back home in the Philippines. He added his PADI certificate to his credentials and once again began enjoying life, going home on weekends if he wasn’t diving here and there around the country.

Tragedy struck his company on the eve of his twenty second birthday, an oxy acetylene kit caught fire with the result the entire business was burned to the ground and his employer didn’t have enough insurance to restart and even if he did it would take time. Christian did all he could to find employment, but by 2005 the new migrants coming into the country were often vying for the same jobs he was, taking lower pay and cutting his chances to the bone. He made a decision that would change his life. He enlisted in the army.

Going through the stages he found himself among mates when he was posted to the Yorkshire Regiment. His superiors saw that he had some good skills and after six months with the 2nd Battalion, a recommendation came through that he apply for the Paras given the heightened intensity of the UK's involvement in Afghanistan, someone felt he would be better placed with them. He passed his P company tests with flying colours and his next stop was his Parachute regiment, which by a twist of fate again was the 2nd Battalion. From there he was sent to the SOC, sniper operators course and once he was back with his unit, doing more training and exercises in both Europe and the US, his regiment was deployed to Helmund Provence in Afghanistan in 2008. They rotated back twice between then and 2009, with Christian by now a Lance Corporal and receiving three awards for action in several campaigns of fierce fighting.

SGC history:

Returning home, things became routine but never dull. In mid 2010 he was promoted to corporal and late that year he was asked to attend a private meeting between his CO and a Major from something calling itself Stargate Command in the US. To say he was shocked to learn what he did that day, he of course had no hesitation in signing the non disclosure agreement and in February of 2011 he found himself half a galaxy away on the Alpha site doing his SGC training.

Since joining Stargate Command, Christian has served with two SG teams until finally he was selected to be a permanent member of a reformed SG-22. Sadly their leaders never lasted long, not because of death, just sheer incompetence. It was hoped their latest CO, Captain Fierra would prove to be what they needed. He has since his promotion to Sergeant, been assigned as team sniper to AR-5 in Atlantis.
