All Stargate discussion

We will eventually have separate boards for each section; but for now this will do. I'd like some input as to how we do get things going again.

But as you said earlier, we should (in my opinion) create core separations for technologies and characters. Three large sections (galaxies) containing outposts and planets Tau'rì, Neo Empire Goa'uld, The Lucian Alliance, and the worlds to be explored scattered that could at that point be incorporated into the sections indicated once the operating cycle of the game is completed.

A leisure section and I would say that in this way it can batare or you risk making too many dispersive sections

Quite so. What I am trying to figure out at the moment is how to set the boards up (child boards as we used to call them), so we don't have a 1,000 categories showing up on the main index.

I was wondering whether or not the new site might bring about a chance to sort of do a soft-reset in the sense that we have a clean sheet to start anew in a sense; perhaps, yes, bring the plot that we had been working on over - such as the SAR mission but could also be a good chance to bring new characters or update older characters as well?

Perhaps I am waffling, if so, do feel free to disregard the above. My brain is a little foggy at the moment due to being under the weather.

Just working out sort of whether or not it would be good to have gauge of interest in continuing with current plots or at least giving a chance to summarise what has happened thus far?

I've been thinking about that hard, very hard. The plot we had, I do want to complete, it'd be a record for us if we could I mean we've started so many plots, but rarely have we fully saw them to the end, more often than not, wrapping it up quickly with a wave of the hand.

That being said, we need to set time lines so they don't drag on for years literally as they have done.

Character wise, I think it'd be a good opportunity to get rid of a lot of the old ones we're hardly using. As for new characters, I do think we need to set limits and that includes staff. For the plots we play, we're way over the top and in that we do need to attract some new people. But, like all things, we should leave this open for discussion.

In the meantime, I'm setting up the boards so we can start copy/pasting from the old site.

I think that's a good start; sort of narrowing down the amount of plots going on at the same time, character reduction or at least being able to utilise characters in a way that makes sense (whether we have major characters - those that are involved heavily in game, and minor characters - those which only make occasional appearances and aren't necessarily needing to remain active as much)

Part of it I believe comes from the top brass characters not having much to do; though with that being said I would think that maybe a list of the chain of command would help a lot - where us players can reference back and align ourselves to what's what.

I'd be happy to be list-master and updater if need be, that's something I can do when we approve characters and such.

Time limits could be implemented; as well as maybe a stricter character order when we engage in bigger threads so that we can implement the time limit better (say a week between replies)?

We've got make it thinner if that sounds sensible. One thing as well, I don't want anyone, regardless of what we allowed before; to be playing and writing on their own. One new rule that we will be enforcing is that only staff will be allowed to create new topics in role play.

I think from memory when we started the last arcs, we did say that only a limited number of characters will be involved from each player, we will stick to that rule.

Not that new! For now we'll be doing our best to finish what we began.

Having said that I do have an idea for season 14. A time trip. That's all I'm saying for now.

We need to work on that. I'll see if I can contact Shadow. Even with only 3 of us, we can still make it work. And I'll do some recruiting, see if we can get more people in.
