Appearance: Despite what seems to be on the outset, an ageing Naval officer, Damian is anything but. He continues to keep himself in good working order, setting the standards for how his own crew should be - his hair is cropped close to his head (and though tempted to grow a beard) he keeps himself clean shaven.

Personality:

Damian is a man who has been forged by the intelligence of his two parents; both of whom were in the field of sciences. He is much a man who can overwhelm people with in depth knowledge of his subject matter expertise as he is a man who is mystified by the more simple things in life. A deep thinker, yet more than capable of acting in the moment when it is required. He has a deep dislike for self-disappointment or disappointing others, especially after Damian has said that he would end up doing something.

1981 - attended BRNC; initially had decided to aim for a meteorology officer but changed his mind on week 15
1982 - completed BRNC; passing out as a Warfare Officer

1988 - HMS Ambuscade
1992 - second promotion; lieutenant commander
1998 - Persian gulf deployment
2002 - stationed on HMS Severn after its initial launch
2002 to 2006 - was a part of CTF 150; during this time was brought into the SGC

2007 - Served as XO to USS Apollo under command of Colonel Ian Davidson
2009 - involved in the conflict with the ZPM Powered Hive
2013 - becomes commanding officer of UNS Mississippi, reassigned to the Chekov last minute


Personal History:

Damian was the product of intellect, a boy who was the firstborn son of Dr. Juliet Hohstadt-Geary and Henry Geary; both of them had pursued a career in science - one medical and the other astrophysics. His father had a large part to play in his interest in space, and joining the Royal Navy once he had completed his A-Levels. The decision to choose the Navy over any other branch was a simple one; he enjoyed what they had to offer and though his parents wanted him to choose something along the same lines of what they were involved in - they knew they couldn't convince him otherwise.

He took up the challenge of joining the ranks as a YO in '81 and passed out '82. It was a fruitful career that he progressed up the ladder, gaining his relevant experience as a Warfare Officer before gaining his two recommendations for a promotion. Damian wasn't just a man who spent his life on a ship, he took up several different sports in and out of his free time. Muay Thai had been something he had heard of, and wanted to try. Alongside his family tradition of skiing. During this time, he had his younger brother and sister born - both of them opting to use their father's name instead of their mother's.

Promotion always took a back seat when he enjoyed his job - wanting to rinse it for all he could during his Persian Gulf deployment. He had several stations during the years '02 to '06 where he was a part of the CTF-150 and often went elsewhere to assist in teaching. He had a year filling in for a maternal leaver during '04, and as such found himself back at BRNC. But in '07, found himself being scoped out to serve as an executive officer for the USS Apollo under the command of Ian Davidson (and such went his first introduction to the Stargate Programme). It lasted until the colonel needed to oversee the work being done on the USS Daedalus.

Due to this, in '13 has been placed as commanding officer of the UNS Mississippi and promoted to the rank of Commander, though last minute had been reassigned to the Chekov.
